The personal portfolio of Sam Serrien, founder of GeNx, built as a tribute to the 1995 film Hackers. If you like, you hack your way to the projects through a terminal and the Cookie Monster virus. If you are in a hurry, you go straight to the portfolio.

A portfolio as a film scene
A regular portfolio is a list of projects with a photo. This site turns it into a short scene. After a hackertyper style terminal and ACCESS GRANTED, the Cookie Monster virus from the film appears. It asks for a cookie while it eats the Gibson data wall lane by lane, with Pac-Man lending a hand. Typing cookie feeds the virus and moves you on.
Next, the sectors of the Gibson are seized one by one until the whole system is owned and the camera dives into the grid. That is where the projects, the workplaces and a profile live. For anyone not in the mood for a film: the second button on the landing screen skips it all.
- Two routes: the full hacking sequence or straight to the portfolio
- A custom canvas engine for the data wall that stays smooth on slower devices
- Projects filtered by company and by tag, with screenshots in a carousel
- A profile photo that rotates through scenes styled after films from the 80s and 90s
- The Konami code opens a hidden easter egg from any scene
- SEO, structured data and llms.txt generated automatically from the project list
Fast, despite all the effects
The data wall is a small canvas engine without React. It draws the digits once and then only touches the parts that get eaten, so the scene stays smooth on an older laptop or phone. The rest of the site is React with Vite, Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion.
All content lives in a single data file. The site builds the project grid from it, and on every build also a markdown version of the projects, the llms.txt for AI assistants and the JSON-LD for search engines. Adding a project is one change in one place. The profile photos are AI generated scenes built around one real selfie.
