A believable excuse in two taps
The idea is simple: you want to leave, but you need a reason. On ikmoetweg.be (Dutch for "I have to go") you pick a category, such as family, kids and school, home, work or pets, or you let it surprise you. Straight away a full screen emergency message appears that looks like a real app: a brother who fell off his bike, the school calling, or a client who just copied in the CEO.
Swipe left or right for another excuse. To go back you double tap the top left corner, so there is no visible back button to give your story away. It is a mobile first web app with no accounts and no database.
- Recreated screens of WhatsApp, iMessage, an incoming call, Slack, Microsoft Teams and a mail app
- Browse by category or by app, or get a random excuse
- A clock and message times that follow the real time, so every message looks like it just came in
- iPhone or Android look, in light or dark mode
- Names for brother, partner, boss, teacher or vet that you fill in yourself, stored only on your own device
- Incoming call with ringtone and vibration, plus a hidden button in the top right to toggle the sound
