Banking for everyone
Too many people in Belgium still struggle with online banking. That is why the financial sector invests in digital inclusion, with extra attention for people who are not, or less, digital.
This website brings all of those initiatives together: Febelfin's social action points, the Universal Banking Service, info sessions, e-learning for digital coaches and partnerships with organisations on the ground. Everything is clearly structured, with warm illustrations and plenty of white space.
- Bilingual, with a separate domain per language: toegankelijkbankieren.be and banqueaccessible.be
- Calendar of info sessions on online banking and payments
- Overview of sector initiatives and partners
- News overview and contact form with newsletter sign up
- News, events and pages managed in Kirby CMS
Accessibility as a starting point
A site about accessible banking has to be accessible itself. The audience is diverse: people with a visual or hearing impairment, people with low literacy, non native speakers and seniors with little digital experience.
So every page got careful structure: labelled navigation landmarks, ARIA attributes for the menu, decorative icons hidden from screen readers and alt texts on every image.
